ADARC took part in the John Moyle Memorial Field Day 2026, operating portable from Richard VK2EIK and Megan VK2FMEG’s property at Wollomombi in the HF Multi-Multi Portable 24 Hour category.

The team finished 3rd place with 33,069 points, behind VL5X Amateur Radio Experimenters Group from Adelaide in 1st (73,920 points) and VK4IZ Redcliffe & District Amateur Radio Club in 2nd (38,000 points). Certificate below.

Several club members took part in JMMFD for the first time this year. With a result on the board, the club now has a much better sense of what it takes to go further next time – particularly getting more members on air and spreading operating time across different bands.

Thanks to Richard VK2EIK and Megan VK2FMEG for hosting the attempt at Wollomombi and for the accommodation and meals over the weekend, and to Richard VK2IAX, Ken VK2UQ and Dave VK2RP for pitching in on the club’s first JMMFD entry since 2019.

Mark it on the calendar – JMMFD 2027 is already worth planning for.
